Sankofa - The Movie

The Sankofa bird is an ancient Akan symbol. It means one must return in order to move forward. The bird's body is moving forward, but it turns in head back to look and remember the past. Ms. Bank's uses the image and the symbolism throughtout the entire series. A people who don't know their past, history are lost souls.

Sankofa, the movie, speaks to this very symbolism. I encourage everyone who has not seen the movie to review and give readers a review.
